The OSU Extension Service will be hosting a three-day Crash Course on Cow-Calf Management in July.
This is a three-day short course that will benefit seasoned producers as well as those new to cow-calf management. Topics will include cattle behavior, general management practices, herd health and vaccinations, reproduction management, calving management and herd nutrition. The following schedule is noted: July 26 – Cattle Health, presented by Taylor Holmquest, Extension Ag Educator with the Wagoner County OSU Extension Service. July 27 – Calving and Reproduction, presented by Dr. Barry Whitworth, Area Food and Animal Quality Health Specialist. July 28 – Herd Nutrition, presented by Earl Ward, Area Extension Specialist for Livestock. If all three days are attended, participants will be entered to win a starter calving kit Pre-registration deadline is July 24 to ensure there are adequate complimentary snacks. The cost for the course is $10 per person with payment at the door (cash or check). |
